# What happens after I apply?

Membership is by application. Once you submit, a person on our team reviews it. We check three things:

1. **That you’re real.** Your live selfie is compared with your photos ([photo verification](https://masihimatch.com/help/what-is-the-selfie-verification-process/)).
2. **That you’re serious.** Your profile is complete and genuine, follows our Community Guidelines, and you’re here to marry.
3. **That there’s someone here for you.** We look at whether there are enough members near you for a real chance at the right match.

## What you’ll see

- **In review.** Your application stays in review until a person has checked it and there are enough compatible members near you. That can be quick, or it can take a while. Turn notifications on and we’ll tell you the moment there’s a decision. [Why it can take a while](https://masihimatch.com/help/why-am-i-being-waitlisted/).
- **Accepted.** Mabrouk! Read the Community Guidelines and you’re in.
- **Not accepted.** Most often it’s the photos, or the selfie not matching them. Tap **Update and reapply** and submit again.

If we haven’t opened in your area yet, you’ll see that before you apply. Tap **Notify me** and we’ll tell you when we do.
