Dating safely

  • Trust your instincts

If something feels off, it probably is. Don’t ignore red flags or a story that doesn’t add up.

Use Block and Report whenever you feel uncomfortable, for any reason.

  • Protect your personal information

Keep conversations on masihimatch at first.

Hold back your full name, address and phone number until you’re confident about the person. It’s fine to keep work general (“Professional in Finance”).

  • Take it slow

A match doesn’t guarantee compatibility. Take time to get to know someone, and be wary of anyone who rushes.

Respectfully look your match up online before things get serious.

  • Involve your family and friends

Tell people you trust about your matches and your dates, and ask what they think.

  • Meet safely

Meet in respectable public places, tell someone where and when, and get there on your own.

Consider a video chat before you meet in person.

  • Keep money out of it

Never send money or share financial information, and be suspicious of any request for help or donations. Report anyone who asks, straight away.

  • Stay alert

Be careful with long-distance connections, especially when money comes up, and with anyone who avoids personal questions.

  • Respect boundaries

Talk openly about expectations and values. Respect anyone who wants to go slowly or keep cultural norms, and know you can end any conversation that makes you uncomfortable.

We review profiles, but we don’t run background checks and can’t vouch for every member. Use these guidelines, and your own judgment.
